Slow down buddy!
This unnecessary race with time comes from the needs of having and experiencing. They are often too big and can be generated under the influence of social pressure. We constantly want more. To possess, to do and to see everything. To live to the full. Applications, planners, graphics – these are only a few tools, which allow us to organize our life better and more effectively. We think we are happy that we have everything under control when…
It could be an illusion because the effect of our coordinated acts without time to take a breath is that we are running all the time. Sometimes one scratch makes everything else fall down. We don’t organize time for ourselves for savouring the moment for unexpected situations , which can be fun but we don’t know it.
What comes to my mind is my hamster that I had when I was a kid. It was running and running and running and there was no end (satisfaction).
Fast lifestyle can work as long as the quality is over quantity. When you come to the point where you no longer notice the things that are meaningful and add colours to one’s existence, it’s worth to slow down and simply rethink certain things. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not about doing stuff slowly and to drink your cup of coffee in snail-tempo, but to live your life as best as possible. How often do we forget about what we ate for breakfast the day before? When was the last time you relished roast ribs instead of just devouring them? How often do you say: in a moment, later?
If this is how good organising looks like, then I’m signing out.
But is it really possible to slow down when work, home duties, sleep, eating and doing sports all blend in one? – you can ask. It turns out that yes, it is. It requires a lot of effort, but the results can be great. All you need to do is to select the most important things for you and to engage in it 100%.
Get up in the morning without a snooze and reluctance. You’ll see how much free time you can get for yourself! Then comply to these rules all day long. Don’t bring your smartphone to a concert. At least you will focus on the stage and feel the vibe. Don’t check your e-mail box every 5 minutes. Experience boredom from time to time, which will provoke you to plan your spare time for the future. Have a meal with family, find a soothing hobby. Chill out, be slow and enjoy every moment. Focus on here and now.
